Emily and David were married in a very special place, a place where no one had ever been married before. David's family was involved with the founding of Wolf Trap - not "the Barns" wedding venue, but the actual amphitheater and park - and he and Emily decided to say their vows in the Children's Theater, outside, amongst the trees and paths that David grew up playing around.
Emily started the day with her hair stylist of 10 years, Mickey Bolek from
Michael Anthony Salon. And, oddly, her makeup artist was someone I see all the time when I get
my hair did. DC gets smaller every day.
Then we all hopped in our transports and headed out to a fantastic day at Wolf Trap.

After we did some "pretty" portraits, I took them to the other side of the church to hang on the playground.
And you guys know I'm not much for flowers and decorations and things but check out these centerpieces. Yes, that is an artichoke.

Katie and Jessica opted for a "first look" before their ceremony. Wolf Trap offered lovely little woods for them.
This was too cute. As Katie was walking up, Jessica turned around. Kelly teased her not to look, so she turned back around like she hadn't seen.
The ceremony was done in a really unique circular pattern. Challenging to photograph, but it was obvious that family involvement was a big priority for the brides.
Katie and Jessica put out a big candy spread for their guests to pack up and take home. Not gonna lie, I had a whole bunch of malt balls. Towards the end of the reception, someone asked Jessica if she wanted to take the rest of the candy home. "Of course!" she said. My kinda girl.
