Laura and Jeff tied the knot last week at the DC courthouse. When you've been together a billion years, sometimes a giant party doesn't make any sense. But the courthouse - that shiz is legal. Marriage certificate in hand, we wandered on down to the Mall for some portraits in the National Gallery.
Some people are foreheads-together people. These two are and they're really cute about it.
The National Gallery of Art is under all kinds of construction up top and for some reason they removed a bunch of art from the inside, too, and closed off some of the galleries. But now they're putting back some pieces, like these circles. I'm there a lot, so I've noticed the changes over time. I hope they put all the art back soon.
In the meantime, we play with what's left.
A newish take on an old favorite. Either improper flash placement or the burning, unstoppable love between Laura and Jeff - you can take your pick.
Congratulations, guys!
This Spring weather has been rough on scheduling. The worst part is it doesn't even rain when they say it will. Promised but undelivered rain is what got Eliza, Erick and I up way early in Georgetown. It was a Sunday morning and we had the whole place to ourselves - creepy, empty M Street with parking as far as the eye can see. Fortunately, Erick thought my "photo voice" was hi-lar-ious so we had a good old time. I even made them frolic.
(Yeah! We got up early enough that there weren't any cars parked in front of the flower mural!)
The kayak people were so nice - even opened the gate for us to take photos by the bridge and with the colorful kayaks.
I have the best clients.
Georgetown is really quite alright. Lots of pretty stuff (basically none of which I am showing on the blog today) and then graffiti, underpasses, weird street scenes - it's a great place to shoot.)
I photoshopped a rat trap out of this image.
You'll see more of these two on the blog in fancier dress later this year.
Congratulations, you guys!
Jodie and Ryan were down for whatever, so we made lots of weird photos. I enjoy that in people who have hired me to photograph their wedding.
They got hitched at the DC courthouse, then we rolled down to the National Mall for gallivanting, standing in front of art and lots and lots of congratulations from the crowds.
Jodie has the best laugh.
More fun weird stuff.
And also really pretty stuff. I'm versatile like that.
This was a month ago (they've been on a super-rad long honeymoon) so this was one of the first trees to bloom. We took advantage.
Congratulations guys!
