Kristi and Tom beat my previous record for most people crammed into the ceremony room at the DC courthouse. What can you do when too many people love you? Fortunately, the courthouse marriage people didn't feel the need to enforce their 15-person limit, and these two got their wed on.
After family pictures they had to run, so we did the ultimate-fast version of portraits. The courthouse ain't so bad, amiright?
Then we headed over to Maggiano's for foods and cakes and lots of toasts.
And pause. That is an eight-bit cake. And their invitation says "leveling up"! How frickin' rad.
Maggiano's has some pretty swank ballrooms.
Kristi and Tom kissed every single time their guests clinked the glasses.
Congratulations, guys!
Kelly and Mike are blowing this joint soon, headed to the great state of Texas. But they love it here (because who wouldn't?) so they wanted to capture a bit of the flavor of the town. Plus, fur babies. So we hit up a tiny local park you've never heard of and also one of the most visited sites in the entire country.
Dogs are fun.
We dropped off our canine pals at home, but stole a few quick snaps on Kelly and Mike's adorable porch.
Lincoln time! (And aside: I normally try to dissuade people from shooting here because of the crowds, but as long as you don't mind a bunch of tourists in your photos, it's actually a really nice place to be - getting on towards sunset. Earlier it's way way bright.)
Doing my best to use the scads of people about.
Bon voyage, guys! Best of luck with the move.
Stephanie and Matt are rebels. Rebels, I tell you! National Arboretum says "no photos here" and "no weddings here" and they say pshaw and get married anyway in a tucked-away little corner. Turns out the National Arboretum is freakin' enormous. Though we did have some run-ins with park police... driving by and not paying us even the slightest bit of attention. But a little drama makes for a more interesting wedding day anyway! Plus, who couldn't just be happy for these two?
Matt's sister officiated and their parents each took a turn reading a scripture passage.
I love her beautiful bouquet! Peonies are one of two flowers I can name with conviction.
They held their ceremony in the Asian Valley, far away from almost all the tourists. But we crept back up to the Azalea Gardens near the entrance at the end.
Congratulations, you guys!
