Marcy and Emily couldn't contain their wedding awesome to one day. After their big party in California and their European honeymoon, we all met up in Mitchell Park for them to have a rather smaller service, but with rather greater legal proceedings. Additionally, sis about to pop made the journey up from Norfolk and they each got to pick out two wedding dresses, so that is pretty great.
This was last Friday, you know, the day the heat index went to 112 or something like that. It was, in a word, hot.
The folks at Pizzeria Paradiso were very nice to us. We all needed about 5 giant glasses of water after the ceremony and a bit of a portrait session around the park. And then I moved all manner of patio furniture around and they didn't care at all. Folks are so nice to people getting married.
Congratulations you guys! It was a pleasure documenting your (second) day!
Suee & Tad were married at the really spectacularly beautiful Franciscan Monastery. And their tables were differentiated by fruits! But really, the very best part was their first dance, which they did to none other than 'Power of Love' by Huey Lewis and the News. Yes, my friends, best first dance song ever. Add a kickin' band, incredibly sweet families and a classy location and you've got a pretty great wedding.
Suee & Tad got ready at their house in Washington, DC. They remodeled it themselves and it's gorgeous.
Suee's twin sister helped her get ready.
I normally don't futz around too much with the bouquet but I loved the play of the orange against the blue/green leaves I found outside the hall.
Bride and groom portraits on the grounds of the beautiful Franciscan Monastery, across the street from the hall.
Suee and Tad had major decoration win at this wedding. Each table had a different fruit and the escort cards directed guests to their tables by "grape" or "pomegranate" or "strawberry", etc. I love this idea!
Big thanks to Jessica Shepard for coming out to help me with this wedding. The photo on the right below is hers.
The next two are Jessica's - I love Mom laughing!
The last image in my camera at the end of the night. Hilarious.

Pamela and James... by far my silliest couple to date. This wedding was really fantastic - held in Pamela and James' home and the home of their friend and neighbor, the talented designer Andrew Law, Pamela and James treated their guests to a lovely outdoor ceremony and a rockin' kick-ass party. Nope, those two are super compatible, as I witnessed. In addition, Pamela and James have two of the cutest, sweetest, most polite little boys I may have ever met. I even got a hug from big P at the end of the night!
Pamela got ready inside Andrew's house. It was fun to play with the doorframes and angles. Also because there were little people running around everywhere.
Pamela's gorgeous bouquet. I believe those are anemones, but my flower IQ is about 4.
During the ring exchange, P and H were hanging onstage with Pamela and James. She got his ring on, but halfway through him putting on hers, H threw his arms around mom. It was pretty seriously cute.
Toldja they were silly.
Big thanks to Porter for coming out to shoot this one with me. How could I not post this?
Porter's. Love it.
And these next two are also Porter's. Good times!
Congratulations you guys!
