Amanda and Ben are all kinds of globe-trotting awesomeness. But they bought it on back to DC for an intimate wedding at Co Co. Sala (where the eff does that period go??), which proved to be an incredible venue for weddings, right there on F Street. They tied the knot in a beautiful little narrow courtyard next to an old church and then ate up all the chocolately goodness on tap. And were ridiculously sweet.
I love how DC is a low enough city to have these beautiful alleys filled with light. Who knew Co Co. Sala had a patio adjoining an old church they use for intimate outdoor weddings? It's a really pretty space.
As a bonus, there's a tiny art gallery in the same building at the restaurant, and we were able to sneak in there to cool off and take some pictures with these awesome wall mural things.
Then back to the courtyard to play with the beautiful afternoon light. That lovely little alley bounced it around quite nicely.
Super excited. You would be too.
"Your ring is so sparkly!" I have a similar thing going on with my husband. He notices my ring way more often than I do.
After family pictures, everybody headed downstairs to celebrate in Co Co. Sala's private event room and eat tasty things.
Congratulations Amanda and Ben! Best wishes and safe travels!
Liz and Ashwin grabbed up the last of the magnolias, along with about 5 billion tourists. So after a handful of obligatory flowering tree photos, I took them somewhere a bit more interesting - my old stomping grounds of L'Enfant Plaza. Always fun when my peeps are up for anything. And double fun when they are all giggles like these two. So looking forward to their wedding in a couple weeks!
Tabitha and Jason are so patient. We must have changed their engagement photo shoot three times, chasing the cherry blossoms. In the end, they were just too damn late (mostly) so we just went with what we had. I think it worked out pretty great, actually.
Clancy came along for the ride. Bonus extra morning walk - score!
And we found some cherry blossoms after all!
A real bonus of getting up super-early for engagement photos is that the metro is empty and you can play on the escalator without annoying half the city.
Congratulations guys!
