Vaishali & John | Hirschorn Museum engagement session

I know I keep saying it, but I have really rad clients.  Without prompting, Vaishali and John suggested we do their engagement session at the Hirschorn Museum, my very favorite on the National Mall.  I've had the great fortune to work with two other couples this year who requested museums (and a fourth is coming up in December, yes!)  So much win. Vaishali and John recently moved away from DC, and you know the city misses them.  Nevertheless, I'm sure they are rockin' North Carolina hard at this point.  And how do I know?  Cuz of this. engagement photography with word art We hit up the Jefferson Memorial first to score some variety.  And for everyone curious (including folks who have requested sessions on the monuments), we were indeed stopped by the Park Police, who let us fire off a handful more frames and go on our way.  I continue to have success shooting on the steps, but that's about as far as they'll let you get. jefferson memorial engagement photography national mall engagement photography Also, there is a memorial to George Mason behind the Jefferson.  Who knew? engagement photography on the national mall Then we hit up the museum.  I love shooting in modern art museums. hirschorn museum engagement photography engagement session in a modern art museum hirschorn museum engagement session engagement session on the national mall Congratulations, you guys!

Sara & Cory | L’Enfant Plaza & National Mall engagement

Sara and Cory specifically requested L'Enfant Plaza for its "brutalist architecture", which, any photographer will tell you, is a pretty awesome setting and not your standard engagement session fare.  Plus, I happen to work in L'Enfant Plaza (for just a few short weeks more!) so I know all the cool spots.  Like right here next to the parking garage. washington dc engagement photographer l'enfant plaza engagement photography Or in the lobby of my building.  I have been looking at this spot since they rebuilt the lobby earlier this year.  So fun to actually get to take a couple here!  PS: How completely adorable is Sara's outfit? engagement photos in corporate lobby And my current favorite plaything on the Mall.  Yes, you've seen it before. national mall engagement session engagement photography in parking garage engagement photography on the national mall washington dc engagement photos See you guys in June!

Dana & Josh | National Mall engagement

Dana and Josh are one of the cutest, cuddliest couples I've ever photographed.  Normally I'm giving dorky cues like "give him a nuzzle" or "put your foreheads together." I didn't have to do any of that with these two - they'd just start hugging and kissing and things with hardly any prompting from me!  Makes my job so easy. This is the third shoot I've done on the National Mall in as many weeks and I gotta say, I freakin' love this place.  I super dig that each of these sessions have a different feel.  There are so many places to play, so many cool sculptures to mess with.  It's not cliched or boring at all.  (And yes, we did the Capitol-in-the-background shot.) engagement photography at the national gallery of art with SICK REFLECTIONS Dana and Josh are these crazy worlds colliding.  She is from Ecuador; he is from Estonia.  They met in Oklahoma.  It really is a small world. national mall engagement session engagement photography on the national mall washington dc engagement photographer engagement photography in washington, dc engagement photographer Amber Wilkieengagement photos at the national gallery of art sunset engagement photographsnational mall engagement photographyengagement photography at the hirschorn museum Congratulations, you two!  Rock the pants off Oklahoma!
