Okay, seriously, Becca and Joe. They tied the knot at the DC courthouse last week and they were more enthused than I am about anything, ever. They have the best energy.
They've got friends and family all over, so their two-person wedding party had to hold a bunch of phones so they could Skype in some extra love and support.
I mean, I photograph people getting married on a more-than-once-a-week basis, but I think Becca may be the most pumped ever.
After the courthouse, we Ubered it on up to the Capitol for some "hey we're in Washington DC" photos. And ducked into some not-so-obvious spots as well.
After wardrobe checks, we hustled on down to the National Gallery of Art, my go-to location for indoor portraits. The giggles continued.
New takes on old favorites?
Congratulations Becca and Joe!
Heather and Gary got married on a day that should have been uncharacteristically warm for winter, but was instead blustery and frigid. But Heather stuck with it in her awesome bright pink dress and we shuffled off to the National Gallery of Art for portraits after their ceremony at the DC War Memorial. These two are so sweet to each other - it was really cool to document their wedding.
They hired one of my favorite officiants in DC - Sue Mosher. She always does a great job and tailors each ceremony to the couple's believes and history.
Love this candid frame.
"We got married, yeah!"
We were well done with being outside, so we shuffled to the National Gallery of Art for some quirky portraits.
And today I learned how to make a gif in Photoshop!
Revising old favorites. This is such a great hallway.
Congratulations Heather and Gary!
K, O, and I were carefully watching Hurricane Sandy as we came up on their wedding day. Thankfully for DC, the storm mostly blew right over and left a chilly, breezy winter day for us to play with. A couple drops of rain and one very modern museum later, and we had some portraits!
But first, K & O rocked the courthouse.
I've got a new proposal for couples wanting photos with the monuments - the National Gallery of Art! No permit needed (okay technically not true, but I've never been harassed on the Mall, unlike every experience I've had trying to photograph couples on/near the monuments). It's historic, beautiful and looks a heck of a lot like the "classic" DC scenes.
Congratulations you guys!
