Sarah & Tim are getting married back home, but live here in the District and wanted to capture some engagement photos for posterity at Tim's alma mater, Georgetown University. Georgetown is a really beautiful campus, and I learned that is partially because there is an endowment specifically for landscaping. So there's that. We did their engagement session on Tim's very birthday, the kind soul, so special thanks to him! It wasn't so hard though, these guys are all laughs.
Here's location #1 right next to dumpsters. I love how photography isolates - such that you only see what I want you to see, not the dumpsters in this alleyway (which was very nicely landscaped, obviously).
Location #2 by dumpsters! Sarah and Tim were such good sports for this one. "Walk that way and laugh out like you're having the best walk of your lives." This always works, seriously. Fake laughing is actually hilarious.
Could Sarah's hair get any more perfect? Seriously.
Congratulations, you guys!
I was down in Charlottesville last week for LOOK3 (photo nerd alert!), so Rachel and Dane and I thought it would be a swell time to fit in their engagement photo shoot. These two love birds are getting married on down in Lynchburg later on this year, at what should be the very height of fall colors (fingers crossed!). Last week, though, we braved the heat and skipped around Lynchburg's really very pretty historic downtown area. And then we did trespassing and Dane found a tick on him, which embarrassed me more than when my car had a flat tire and he changed it for me. It was quite a day, all told. Rachel and Dane:
We actually ate at this lunch counter, so it's more than a prop.
Engagement photo-ception?
This is a used car dealership. It was Rachel's idea, don't look at me. Okay, you can look at me for the running. They're running from a terrible salesman...?
Sometimes you have to do trespassing to get the right scene.
Congratulations you guys! See you in October!
Heidi and Jason are super mega rad and completely adorable together. They told me they were really nervous about the photo shoot and then as soon as I put them somewhere, they started giggling and hugging and being ridiculously cute. I get the distinct impression this one of those couples people are always rolling their eyes at and secretly jealous of. I'm really excited for their wedding coming up soooooon!
If the Hirshhorn didn't have a rotating exhibit, I might get tired of it. As it is, I freakin' love shooting in this museum.
And because they're awesome, Heidi and Jason indulged me in a little making-like-the.
Basically OCF folks (camera nerd-talk, ignore non-photographers!), I'll never tell! Okay, I totally would and have. I told you they were ridiculously cute together.
It was a cloudy day, but they thinned out for just about 10 minutes so we could grab some beautiful backlighting (more nerdy camera talk - sorry folks!)
And then, to celebrate a successful engagement session - frozen yogurt!
Congratulations you guys! Looking forward to the big day.
