Emilie and Dennis were married at the Annapolis Courthouse, after a rollicking morning stomping through the U.S. Naval Academy and the beautiful William Paca House and Gardens. We watched the weather all week, becoming increasingly anxious about the predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms. But then overnight, the skies cleared and the rain quit at the very moment we planned to meet up! Pretty good luck for these two.
Emilie made this dress. As in, from scratch. With her hands and a sewing machine.
The William Paca gardens are really beautiful, and they're right in the middle of all the Annapolis action. They feel quite "secret."
They have some goofy relatives! I said "okay, let's do a siblings hug." Emilie says they don't really go in for that much; they're more like this:
After all that talk of rain, it was actually really sunny in the gardens when we were shooting, but our sun ducked behind a cloud juuuust long enough for me to grab one last scene.
Then we scooted over a few blocks to the courthouse to make it official.
Congratulations, you guys!
Emily and Jon got married during one of our way-too-late freak rainstorms in the (new ceremony room!) DC courthouse. The city made it hard on me that day - crap weather outside and, if you didn't know, the National Gallery of Art's Modern Wing is shutting on down for something like five years, so it's pretty bare in there. I think we made do juuuuuuust fine. Emily & Jon:
Snow!
Kerri and Brian were married on their 19th anniversary. You just know when it's time. They tied the knot on Valentine's Day, at the DC courthouse, surrounded by friends and family. And then we hit up their Capitol Hill neighborhood for some portraits in their back yard and surrounds. Their dog is really soft.
The courthouse was surprisingly calm for Valentine's Day and two days after our mini-Snowmageddon (Snowchi, I believe). The courts opened late but Kerri and Brian got in on time.
We had to grab the furriest member of their family for some photos by their house.
Hard to believe we had so much snow on the ground just last week.
They live right near a whole bunch of lobbying offices, so there was some random stuff to play with. They are really good sports.
Congratulations you guys!
