Jennifer and Nhan have been together for more than twenty years, so at their beautiful Woodend Sanctuary wedding, there was no hint of anxiety or uncertainty about the future - these two have been in it to win it for a long time. I mostly couldn't even tell whose family was whose - at this point, they're all just family. These two gathered together a whole bunch of my favorite vendors in the area - Lula Mae events, Woodend, and Main Event Caterers for a fun, emotional, and lively day:
Jennifer skipped all the hooplah of a bunch of bridesmaids or other ladies up in her getting-ready space. Instead she put on her dress alone (plus me). It was really elegant and peaceful.
Then we brought in her man.
The sky graced us with some fantastic light.
I took so many pictures of these (five!) flower girls. Like so many.
The flower girls (and ring bearer!) didn't know what to do at the end of the aisle so they just milled about for a minute. It was adorable.
I'm not actually sure Christina (planner) could get this spike out of the ground after it took intense fire from the young set.
I'm not sure why he was so upset, but it was short-lived.
I'd never seen a glowstick break before. They splatter their iridescent goo all over and it is so beautiful and strange!
Congratulations you guys!

Haley and Kyle got married and penguins attended! The animals broke free at their Maryland Zoo in Baltimore wedding - the dance floor was off the chain, the love couldn't be contained and there were some proud papa bears roaming about. (Ok, I know I'm stretching here! But in doing some research on "zoo puns", I came up with this awesome set so you can get your fill of actual-cleverness.) Haley and Kyle:
We started the day at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront.
Grandma was impressed.
Then we scooted over to the zoo so these two could check each other out.
The very helpful zoo folks put us in a golf cart and drove us around the grounds! The Maryland Zoo is the second or third-oldest zoo in the country and as such, has some really cool old facilities. This is the bear cage!
Haley didn't wear shoes, which I thought was completely awesome.
Right after the kiss, the penguin folks shuttled out the (surprisingly soft!) avian guests.
After Haley and Kyle got their special audience, everyone got a turn saying hello and taking pictures.
Kyle's grandparents just eked out these folks during the anniversary dance.
Congratulations, you guys!

I've known Mike for the better part of a decade, ever since I was renting a tiny room with crappy A/C and very charming housemates in Del Ray. We're all married now and having babies and acting like straight grown-ups! It's been my pleasure to document the nuptials over the years.
Juliet and Mike gathered together their families under a big tree in Montrose Park and together with their children said some serious I-Dos.
Juliet and Mike spurned the courthouse in favor of a quiet park, on a just-warm-enough sunny summer day. Tiffany from MarriageDC, with her ever-calm presence, officiated.
Baby M slept through the whole ceremony but woke up right on cue for pictures and adorableness.
Ceremony and portraits a wrap, we scooted to Restaurant Nora so these legally-wed folks could get their eat on.
Congratulations, you guys!
