Okay, it's true, it's been nearly a year since I second-shot this wedding with the fantabulous Sarah Culver. But better late than never on the blogging, yes? I recall Margee and Andrew's wedding as very elegant and very Christmasy (hey look, I have good timing!), with a big dose of deer heads thrown in for good measure. And going through my pictures, it is evident they had quite the raucous dance party as well.
They tied the knot at Baltimore's beautiful St. Ignatius Church.
Then we all scooted to the Maryland Club for their really amazing buffet dinner and dancing, dancing and more dancing.
So happy almost one year anniversary to the happy couple! And big thanks again to Sarah for having me out.
K, O, and I were carefully watching Hurricane Sandy as we came up on their wedding day. Thankfully for DC, the storm mostly blew right over and left a chilly, breezy winter day for us to play with. A couple drops of rain and one very modern museum later, and we had some portraits!
But first, K & O rocked the courthouse.
I've got a new proposal for couples wanting photos with the monuments - the National Gallery of Art! No permit needed (okay technically not true, but I've never been harassed on the Mall, unlike every experience I've had trying to photograph couples on/near the monuments). It's historic, beautiful and looks a heck of a lot like the "classic" DC scenes.
Congratulations you guys!
Nancy and Ilan make the best facial expressions. And they have excellent taste. And they are adorable.
We started the day in their bridal suite with a ketubah signing. The rabbi - that's Ilan's father. He was hilarious.
And then the Justin the videographer and I rolled on over to the Art of Shaving on 17th to watch Ilan trim up that beard of his.
Big thanks to Marcella for shooting this one with me.
Did I mention they were adorable? First look with no tears (!) Everybody always feels so much better after the first look.
Then we scooted over to Longview Gallery to do some portraits in the really cool alleys behind the venue.
Love love love the orange and gray (look around the website a bit for the why).
Nancy and her girls hid out in the convention center for a minute so their guests wouldn't see her. So we took advantage of this rad sculpture mobile thing.
Finally, it was go time.
Cutest first kiss ever.
Longview is such a fantastic venue. I love the juxtaposition of all the craziness and emotion and dance floor with the art on the walls.
Congratulations you guys!
