Erin & Patrick | Arlington courthouse wedding

Erin and Patrick are going to rock out the big dress, big ballroom, party-for-everyone-we-know a little later on this year. But sometimes life (or bureaucracies) dictate that you have to go to the courthouse a little early. And if you're going to do that, you might as well bring along your photographer and rock out a courthouse/engagement session duo of awesomeness. So they did. wedding pictures on a metro escalator In Arlington, you don't get married in an actual courthouse, but in a lawyer's office across the way. Apparently two dudes in the basement duke it out for couples (I'd photographed weddings at the other guy's office - this was my first time on this side). Emily & Rick | St. Francis Hall wedding

I'm a big fan of Leo Druker, so I was very happy when he asked me to photograph Emily and Rick's wedding with him at St. Francis Hall near the Franciscan Monastery in Washington, DC. You can see his post about the wedding here. This was the weekend after I photographed Suee and Tad's wedding at the same venue, so it was cool to see a completely different wedding (and type of wedding) there. Here are a few of my favorites: wedding photography at the franciscan monastery in washington dc mother hugging her son during a st. francis hall wedding bride entering the wedding ceremony at st. francis hall groom seeing his bride for the first time at st. francis hall wedding bride walking down the aisle outside father of the bride with guests in the foreground st. francis hall wedding vows beautiful decor at st. francis hall wedding waiter arranging table at st. francis hall wedding st. francis hall architectural detail I loved the simple touch of sprigs of lavender on green napkins. It really gave a classy look without being obtrusive or over-the-top. Plus all the kids at the party were running around with them looking really sweet. room decorations at st. francis hall - lavender and green napkins I'm the second photographer sooooo motion blur the entrance - why not? bride and groom motion blur And this is silly, but there was a fabulous beam of light shooting through the hall during dinner, catching all the little dust particles in the air. I watched it for a long time and nothing interesting happened in my frame, but I thought it was so beautiful I had to share, even though that's Leo right there taking a picture of something else. shaft of light with dust mother of the bride laughing hugging the bride on her wedding day emotions at st. francis hall wedding bride dancing with her father at st. francis hall dancing with the mother of the groom at st. francis hall groom and his mother dancing at st. francis hall wedding Double napkin dab!
