Show me how a gift card is *ever* better than cash. You can't. Maybe it's a social faux pas to hand over some dough, but it's the same exact thing as a gift card, but with less effort required and more flexibility for the recipient. Die gift cards die!

We have got to be the only house in America that doesn't have duct tape. (Also, when I was younger and not even that much younger, I used to call it "duck tape" and always wondered where it got its weird name.)
Roasted Vegetable Minestrone via Pioneer Woman I probably shouldn't be posting a link to this lady's blog because I am totally ripping off her blogging style but can one really be said to "steal" a "blogging style"? Anyway, this is a beautiful and delicious-looking minestrone soup recipe. No, you really shouldn't need a recipe for minestrone soup, but she photographs every step beautifully and takes you on a little taste/cooking journey. Really, check out the Pioneer Lady. She knows what she's talking about.
And because I always try to include an image on any post here, below are two photographs from Jim Moran's Women's Issues Conference. I only stayed to hear Maureen Bunyan of ABC7/WJLA-TV, but I thought it was such a cool idea and great networking opportunity... if I had come quite a bit earlier. Sometimes you're laying in bed with your husband chatting, and it's not worth it to get up and make it to your event.
