Big thanks to the always amazing Kelly Prizel for having me out to second shoot Emily and Dre's Brookside Gardens wedding... almost a year and a half ago. (There are a handful of weddings in my backlog that I'm finally getting to - a handful more and we'll be into the latter half of 2012 - yay!) I just love Brookside. It's an absolutely stunning place, close enough to DC to catch all the happy out-of-towner excitement to be in the nation's capital, but far enough away from the city to really feel like you are in a beautiful garden oasis (maybe because you actually are). And then you throw in Emily and Dre being all adorable and thrilled to be getting married... it's a pretty great combination.
They had a "first look" at the hotel before we scooted to the gardens.
So many great spots for portraits. But quickly the sun went down and it was party time.
Liz and Dave got married under an absolutely beautiful (and big) fall sky with their closest family and friends last week. You couldn't have asked for a better day out of late November. Or a more cheerful, laid-back couple.
Gotta love a bride who takes a tequila shot before she walks down the aisle!
The smallest member of their family did an excellent job as ring-bearer.
Big, big sky.
Not everyone could make it to Arlington for the wedding, so some folks had to join via Skype. I don't normally post family pictures on the blog, but couldn't resist this one that includes relatives somewhere far away, joining the wedding by internet! We live in a crazy time.
Then I got to steal Liz and Dave for a quick stroll around their neighborhood and into the surprisingly beautiful blip of park next to the tennis courts. The sun popped out just in time to give us beautiful golden light.
This is 100% them, y'all.
Congratulations Liz and Dave!
Okay, it's true, it's been nearly a year since I second-shot this wedding with the fantabulous Sarah Culver. But better late than never on the blogging, yes? I recall Margee and Andrew's wedding as very elegant and very Christmasy (hey look, I have good timing!), with a big dose of deer heads thrown in for good measure. And going through my pictures, it is evident they had quite the raucous dance party as well.
They tied the knot at Baltimore's beautiful St. Ignatius Church.
Then we all scooted to the Maryland Club for their really amazing buffet dinner and dancing, dancing and more dancing.
So happy almost one year anniversary to the happy couple! And big thanks again to Sarah for having me out.
