Meagan & Joseph | DC courthouse wedding photography | Washington, D.C.

Meagan and Joseph came all the way from Alabama to tie the knot in our nation's capital. It was a secret wedding for a few days, so they partied it up that weekend with friends unawares. Very romantic. Also, Meagan really knows how to pick a dress. Dc-courthouse-wedding-photographer-15 The DC Courthouse was the scene for our heroes' big moment. Poor Meagan broke her pinkie toe a little previously, so she had to wear a brace thing. Dc-courthouse-wedding-photographer-9 But we switched it out quickly. My apologies for the stress, pinkie toe! Dc-courthouse-wedding-photographer-11Dc-courthouse-wedding-photographer-12 That dress really did twirl in the most fantastic way. Dc-courthouse-wedding-photographer-13 So, not gonna lie. I take this photo a lot. But it's always different and I don't know why! I think it has something to do with the height of my clients. In any case, I'm really glad it came out so well for Meagan, seeing as it was her one request. Heather & Pedro | Tea Barn at Fair Hill wedding | Elkton, Maryland

Heather and Pedro were married at the lovely Tea Barn at Fair Hill way on up in Elkton, Maryland on a windy, clear fall day. They put so much care into every little detail - from tiny folded map airplanes to be used as "rice" after the ceremony to a huge candy table with scads of delicacies to a bouncy-ball paradise for the little guys. It was a good day. Tea-Barn-at-Fair-Hill-wedding-photography-13Tea-Barn-at-Fair-Hill-wedding-photography-22 We started the day at the Comfort Suites in Elkton, Maryland. We satisfied ourselves with barns and the one tree that was turning colors for fall. Apple crates, horseshoes hanging everywhere, photo displays, signage. It was H & P everywhere. Joe & Francis | DC courthouse wedding | 701 Restaurant | Washington

Joe and Francis were married last week at the DC courthouse with scads of jubilant friends and family. These two decided to tie the knot shortly before leaving on vacation and planned the whole thing abroad, from a cruise ship. In something like a week and a half. If they could pull that off, marriage should be a piece of cake. That was Francis and Joe's wedding day. But we ducked under some columns and had some fun. DC-same-sex-wedding-courthouse-11 And then a girl poked her head out of the door there and asked us if we wanted to go to the roof and do some photos on the patio! Um, yes please! DC people are so nice to just-married couples. DC-same-sex-wedding-courthouse-13 Quick portrait shoot a wrap, we scooted over to 701 Restaurant for a lovely cocktails-and-hors d'oeuvres reception.
