For whatever reason, I have taken far fewer lunchtime walks in the last six months than in the previous 18 at my job. Not sure why, really. I need to get back in the habit. Not only is it good for me to be walking and breathing fresh air, but it also provides a daytime photo opportunity.

These lichen are a frequent photographic subject for me. I like to think of them as
my lichen because I doubt too many people are spending their time looking at these tiny guys growing on a tree in DC's Southwest quadrant. But I think they're awesome and almost every time I walk by, I try to get them on film.

These next three suffer from my inability to choose favorites. I get all three lined up comparing them against each other and in the end, I had to chop one by a third to make it horizontal to fit in my website composition. I'm not sure what this says about me as a person or as a photographer. What it means for you is that you now see three images instead of two.
