Baby A is enormous, guys. ThisĀ is a newborn shoot, I promise. Jade was still working on him last time I saw them, but he's arrived and he's pretty great. I'm pretty well convinced that a "newborn" shoot should actually take place a month or more in - Baby A can smile and giggle and squirm and he's cute as hell.
Babies are funny.
Congratulations again, you guys. Take care of that enormous baby.
One of the joys of being a part of such a big moment in my clients' lives is watching them grow from there. I come in at a big transition, and sometimes I get called back in for other changes, like new additions. Shawn and Randall had Baby R just a couple weeks before I came to their house to do a few portraits and document a little sliver of their lives as new parents.
We shot in their home, as that is where new parents spend all of their time. I believe the "normal" is beautiful - the wonder, discovery, gratitude and also the exhaustion, the spit-ups, the poopy diapers. Life is short. Photos help. Doggies too.
(S&R - don't worry. I gave you a ton of color photos too. I just thought the black and white worked well for the setting.)
Baby R is so tiny! Congratulations, guys.
