Amy & Alan | National Mall rad weird photo action

Amy and Alan are really hip people.  She's a graphic designer and he writes movie reviews for Brightest Young Things, a DC hipster blog.  I teased them relentlessly about the hipster things.  It didn't seem to bother them too much. hipsters on the national mall Also, the National Mall is really cool.  I've done a couple photo shoots around there recently and have another one coming up on Thursday.  There are so many little nooks and crannies, weird sculptures, grassy knolls (yes, really - see below) and funky little spots.  It's a great place to play. amish hipsters couply photos with geometric sculpture Super-weird awesome reflection thingie in the Hirschorn Sculpture Garden. portraits in hirschorn sculpture garden national mall portrait photography cute couple with vines sweet couple with cherry blossoms geometric portrait photography weird sculpture portrait photography Every "just because" or engagement session I have, I always take a couple headshots for each person - a new "Facebook profile pic" I tell them.  I think these are my favorites, ever.  I hope they don't fill this sculpture thing in (it's really a fountain) before my session on Thursday - I'm definitely going back. best facebook profile photos ever Finally, Amy and Alan even let me play around in my parking garage.  I've noticed for years how awesome the light is.  Here's proof. portrait photography in parking garage Rock on, kids.

Kristin & Chris | Cherry blossom engagement

Well they changed the dates on us about a million times and when the cherry blossoms finally came, they were pretty seriously great - and you have just today left to see them, according to predictions.  (My money is that after the rains on Saturday, you're going to see much more sporadic blooms.)  So when Kristin wrote me to bump up her sometime-this-Spring session to this past weekend, I thought it was pretty seriously good timing, considering the cherry blossoms were only going to be around for one weekend!  We took those cherry blossoms for a spin. engagement photos with the cherry blossoms And I have to say, I was at the cherry blossoms just two days before for Emilie and Zack's wedding and none of these trees were blooming.  I can't believe what an overnight transformation occurred! cherry blossom engagement sessionwashington dc engagement photography washington dc cherry blossom engagement photos cherry blossom engagement photos engagement session in washington, dc Congratulations Kristin and Chris!  I know you guys will rock the heck out of Cancun!

Anju told me at their consult that she photographs well and she wasn't kidding!  These two showed me around "the creek" in Frederick.  It's such a cute town.  Very excited to see these guys again for their May wedding.  Until then, a few from their engagement session. creative engagement photography in washington, dc Frederick has all these bridges along the cute creek and the light under them is so so so so good. washington dc engagement session I was completely bowled over by Anju's infectious laugh.  Could they be any cuter? engagement photography in washington, dc cute couple in frederick, mdengagement session under a bridgeengagement photography with red bridge cute couple in frederick, md
