Heidi and Jason are super mega rad and completely adorable together. They told me they were really nervous about the photo shoot and then as soon as I put them somewhere, they started giggling and hugging and being ridiculously cute. I get the distinct impression this one of those couples people are always rolling their eyes at and secretly jealous of. I'm really excited for their wedding coming up soooooon!
If the Hirshhorn didn't have a rotating exhibit, I might get tired of it. As it is, I freakin' love shooting in this museum.
And because they're awesome, Heidi and Jason indulged me in a little making-like-the.
Basically OCF folks (camera nerd-talk, ignore non-photographers!), I'll never tell! Okay, I totally would and have. I told you they were ridiculously cute together.
It was a cloudy day, but they thinned out for just about 10 minutes so we could grab some beautiful backlighting (more nerdy camera talk - sorry folks!)
And then, to celebrate a successful engagement session - frozen yogurt!
Congratulations you guys! Looking forward to the big day.
I thrive on variety and exploration, so it's always a great joy to me when clients take me somewhere new and, most importantly, varied for their engagement sessions. Kaitlin and Andrew walked me through their neighborhood and we explored some murals and parking garages and a park they walk through all the time. It's great to be able to incorporate meaningful or familiar places into engagement sessions - so pictures are not just from a park, but from our park. Throw on some beautiful evening light and a happy couple and presto:
Can't go wrong with ice cream.
Or back alleys.
I can't always make a "street" photo at an engagement session or wedding, but I sure do like it when it does happen.
Congratulations, you guys! Until September!
Julia and Alex are my buddies who are going to tie that knot in October this year. Way back on when, they helped me out by modeling for me and now they're full-on engaged! We hit up Old Town, their old stomping grounds, on what was a pretty miserable, drizzly day. No worries. Alex is goofy enough to make Julia laugh and Old Town has plenty of cute little spots to bring tons of cheer to their engagement photos.
The yellow wall. You have to do it.
And somebody left us a heart. How convenient!
Also, y'all, they bought me Chinese food. In case you were wondering how to really tug on my heart strings. Congratulations!! I'll see you guys in October (and, you know, like a bunch before then.)
