Galveston, Texas

Latest round of work travel takes me to Galveston, Texas.  I'd never been before and I'm finding it a very nice place!  Lots of huge historic mansions and a really beautiful downtown area.  It reminds me quite a bit of New Orleans, particularly in the architecture. Adventures today included gift shops (mostly yuck) and a trip out to a colleague's amazing farmhouse.  He's got some rad junkyard-lookin' dogs. sunrise in Galveston beach photography in Galveston, Texas travel shells in a gift shop in Galveston starfish black and white shells in galveston, tx After that, we tried to hit up the Moody Mansion but they didn't have a tour until too late.  Still, I got some snaps around the house and garage. moody mansion stetson hats textured brick in black and white moody mansion The aforementioned barn dogs and one rooster. dog and rooster Work events started at 5.  Here's two of my colleagues, touring the Galveston tall ship. A Monkey and a Pig

I married into the cutest twins on earth.  George's cousins dressed up as a monkey and a pig for Halloween and though they were cranky as all get-out due to *two* birthday parties on Sunday, they still managed to pull off the animal-lookalike bit very well.  I think next year they'll be waaaay into the candy-delivery system that is Halloween. twin cousins in their halloween costumes I love these kids!! Bonus: George's mom.  Hi readership that is related to me!  Here's a photo of George and his lovely mother.  Say hello to Barbara!

Me and Mirrors

I'm fascinated by reflections.  There is so much a photographer can do with mirrors, glass and angles.  So you can imagine my delight when I came across one of those triangle forever mirror things at the University of Maryland while I waited for George's class to get out.  I ducked up inside and had lots of fun taking self-portraits.  The mirrors were plenty dirty and it was very dark in the hall, but I still had some fun.  Here's me and me and me. self-portrait in forever mirror thing, UMD self-portrait in forever mirror thing, UMD self-portrait in forever mirror thing, UMD self-portrait at UMD
